Windows 8 App Group Names: Customizing Your Start Screen

Organizing Applications on the Windows 8 Start Screen
Adjusting to the Windows 8 Start Screen can require some adaptation. A feature frequently missed from the traditional Start Menu is the ability to categorize installed applications. While direct folder creation isn't available on the Start Screen, applications can still be effectively grouped.
To begin this process, navigate to the Metro Start Screen. Position your mouse cursor in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and click the small icon that appears.
Naming Application Groups
Right-clicking on the desired group of applications will reveal a context menu.
Selecting "Name Group" from the menu bar at the bottom of the screen initiates the naming process.
A text field will then appear, allowing you to assign a descriptive name to your application group.
Upon returning to the Start Screen, the newly named group will be displayed with its assigned title.
This method provides a way to maintain organization and quickly access related applications within the Windows 8 environment.
Grouping apps enhances usability and streamlines the user experience on the Start Screen.
