Manage Storage Space on Apple TV - Tips & Tricks

Managing Storage on Your Apple TV
The latest generation of the Apple TV includes built-in storage, allowing users to download applications and games directly to the device.
However, this storage capacity is finite, and it’s common to encounter space limitations over time.
Apple TV Storage Options
Current Apple TV models are available with either 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, priced at $149 and $199 respectively.
It's important to note that this storage is not user-upgradeable, nor can external storage devices be connected.
Consequently, as you accumulate more apps and games, you will likely receive a low storage warning.
We previously touched upon this topic, but this article will provide a focused guide to reclaiming storage space.
Freeing Up Space
Addressing storage limitations should be straightforward; most users will find they can simply delete infrequently used applications and games.
It is anticipated that by the time storage becomes an issue, you will have identified apps and games that are no longer actively used.
Regularly reviewing and removing unused content will help maintain optimal performance and prevent storage-related issues.
Optimizing Storage on Your Apple TV
Accessing the storage management features on your Apple TV begins with navigating to "Settings" from the main home screen.

Should you need to determine the storage capacity of your device, this information can be found within the "About" section, accessible from the General settings screen.

Returning to the General settings screen, scroll down to locate and select the "Manage Storage" option.

The storage screen displays a comprehensive list of all installed applications and content on your system. These items are organized by size, with the largest consumers of space appearing first, facilitating easy identification.

To uninstall an application or game from your Apple TV, select the associated trash can icon and then press the main button on your remote control. A confirmation dialog will then appear, prompting you to either delete the item or cancel the operation.

Proceed to review all installed content on your Apple TV and remove any items that are no longer needed or utilized. Unfortunately, the absence of a readily available indicator displaying remaining storage capacity appears to be an omission. However, future Apple TV software updates may address this.
