Customizing the Apple Watch Modular Face with Multicolor

The Modular watch face on the Apple Watch traditionally allowed users to select a single color for both the time display and the complications. A new feature has been introduced: a “Multicolor” option.

Enabling the Multicolor Option

Activating the multicolor display for the Modular face is a straightforward process. Begin by pressing the digital crown until you are returned to the watch face gallery. Then, utilize a force touch gesture on the watch itself.

The watch face will then be reduced in size, with its name appearing at the screen’s top and a “Customize” button positioned at the bottom. Select the “Customize” button to proceed.

The initial customization screen provides control over the color scheme for the time and complications. Rotate the digital crown in a counter-clockwise direction until the “Multicolor” option is reached at the top of the color list.

Complication Color Assignment

Swiping left will navigate you to the complication selection screen. Here, you can observe the distinct colors assigned to each complication slot on the watch face.

This includes any third-party complications you may have installed. Press the digital crown to confirm the “Multicolor” selection and return to the watch face selector.

From the watch face selection screen, either press the digital crown once more or simply tap on the watch face itself. This will exit the customization interface and display the newly configured multicolored Modular watch face.

Viewing the Multicolor Display

The time and each of the complications will now be showcased in a variety of different colors.

It’s important to note that the specific colors used for the time and complications are predetermined by the system. Currently, users do not have the ability to individually select colors for each element.

This limitation exists within the current version of the watch OS, and future updates may introduce more granular color customization options.
