Apple Watch App Icon Size: How to Make Them All the Same
Apple Watch App Icon Size Adjustment
The Home screen on an Apple Watch features a dynamic grid of application icons. As these icons are repositioned, those located on the periphery of the display diminish in size compared to those situated centrally. This variation in size can occasionally hinder accurate icon selection.
Fortunately, a straightforward solution exists. A setting known as “Reduce Motion” can be activated to disable the resizing of app icons. This ensures all icons on the Home screen maintain a consistent size. Instructions for modifying this setting are provided for both the watch itself and a paired iPhone.
Adjusting the Setting on Your Apple Watch
Begin by pressing the digital crown until the Home screen becomes visible. Subsequently, select the “Settings” icon.
Within the “Settings” screen, tap on “General”.
From the “General” screen, select “Accessibility”.
Navigate to the “Vision” section within the “Accessibility” screen and tap “Reduce Motion”.
Activate the “Reduce Motion” setting by tapping the slider. The slider will change to a green and white appearance.
Pressing the digital crown will return you to the Home screen. The app icons will now display at a uniform size, regardless of their position.
Adjusting the Setting on Your iPhone
The “Reduce Motion” setting can also be modified via your paired iPhone. Initiate this process by tapping the “Watch” icon on the iPhone’s Home screen.
Ensure the “My Watch” tab is selected. If not, tap the “My Watch” icon located at the bottom of the screen.
Within the “My Watch” screen, tap “General”.
Scroll down and select “Accessibility” on the “General” screen.
On the “Accessibility” screen, tap “Reduce Motion”.
Activate the “Reduce Motion” setting by tapping the slider.
The “Reduce Motion” setting is synchronized between the watch and the iPhone. Therefore, enabling it on one device will automatically enable it on the other. Furthermore, activating this feature may contribute to a slight improvement in battery life, as the watch will conserve power by eliminating the animation of Home screen icons.
