Setting Google Chrome as Your Default Browser in Windows 7 or Vista

We recently received a query from a user experiencing difficulty in designating Google Chrome as their preferred browser within Windows 7 or Vista.

Specifically, the user noted that Chrome was absent from the standard Default Programs list found in the Control Panel.

The process for establishing Google Chrome as the default browser is, in fact, quite uncomplicated.

Users should navigate to the Options panel within Google Chrome itself.

Within the Options panel, a prominent button is located at the bottom of the screen.

Clicking this button initiates the process of setting Chrome as the default browser.

As it turns out, this single click is all that is required to complete the task.

This method bypasses the need to locate Chrome within the Control Panel’s Default Programs settings.
