Convert Live Photos to Still Photos on iPhone - Easy Guide

Converting Live Photos to Still Images on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
The Live Photos feature introduced with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus offers a dynamic way to capture moments. However, users may prefer to share these captures as traditional still images, or simply reduce file size.
Live Photos are considered a key feature, and achieving optimal results with them has been previously detailed. Despite their appeal, these files require considerably more storage space compared to standard photographs.
A Simple Conversion Process
Transforming a Live Photo into a static image is a straightforward procedure, achievable in a few concise steps.
Begin by opening the desired Live Photo within the Photos application. Subsequently, select the "Edit" option located in the top-right corner of the screen.
The Live Photo will then be displayed as a conventional still image. This preview represents the final output after conversion.
To initiate the conversion, tap the Live Photos icon. Its location varies based on device orientation: lower-left in landscape mode, and upper-left in portrait mode.
Upon tapping the icon, it will change to white, indicating that the Live Photo functionality is disabled. Then, press the "Done" button to save the image as a still photograph.
Should you wish to restore the image to its original Live Photo format, you have two options. You can either tap the "Revert" button, or re-activate the Live Photos icon and then tap "Done" again.
Once you exit the editing mode, the newly created still image is ready for sharing. It will be shared as a single photograph, rather than the entire Live Photo file.
This conversion results in a significantly smaller file size. This reduction in size conserves device storage and facilitates easier sharing.
Benefits of Converting
- Reduced Storage Usage: Still images occupy less space than Live Photos.
- Easier Sharing: Smaller file sizes are more convenient for sharing via messaging or social media.
- Selective Sharing: Allows users to share only the desired frame from a Live Photo.
