Managing Email Visibility on Your Apple Watch

The Mail application on your Apple Watch provides the functionality to view emails and respond to certain messages. If you manage multiple email accounts and receive a high volume of correspondence, you may find it beneficial to control the number of emails displayed simultaneously.

Your Apple Watch is capable of displaying mail from any inbox or a customized smart mailbox, but it can only show one at a time. While selecting "All Inboxes" presents mail from all connected accounts, this can result in a cluttered view. Alternatively, you can configure the watch to display only unread emails or flagged messages.

Adjusting Mailbox Settings via the Watch App

To modify which mailbox appears on your watch, you must utilize the Watch app on your paired iPhone. Begin by locating and tapping the “Watch” app icon on your iPhone’s Home screen.

Ensure that you are on the “My Watch” screen. If not, tap “My Watch” located at the bottom of the screen to navigate there.

Scroll down the options until you find and tap on “Mail”.

Within the Mail settings, tap “Include Mail”.

The “Include Mail” screen presents a list of all inboxes associated with the email accounts configured on your iPhone. For instance, to view only unread emails on your watch, select “Unread”.

A check mark will indicate your chosen mailbox. The changes are automatically saved. To return to the “My Watch” screen, tap the back arrow in the upper-left corner of both the “Include Mail” and “Mail” screens.

Viewing Your Selected Mailbox

Upon opening the Mail app on your Apple Watch…

…you will now see a listing of all unread messages from all of your iPhone’s email accounts.

NOTE: Should emails persist in the list after being read, press the digital crown to return to the app icon screen. Then, re-open the Mail app by tapping its icon. Read emails should no longer be visible.

You can also choose other options like Flagged, Important, or specific inboxes for each of your email accounts.

This customization allows for a more focused and manageable email experience directly on your wrist.
