Change Wallpaper on iPhone & iPad - Easy Guide

Personalizing Your iOS Device with a New Wallpaper
Revitalizing your iPhone or iPad can be as simple as updating its wallpaper. This process offers a quick and easy way to give your mobile device a fresh, new look and feel.
There are two primary approaches to changing your wallpaper. You can select from the pre-installed wallpapers included with iOS, which are quite visually appealing, or you can utilize a custom image sourced from the internet or your device’s photo library.
Wallpaper Dimensions for Different Devices
If you intend to create your own wallpaper, understanding the appropriate dimensions for your specific device is crucial. Here’s a breakdown of the required sizes:
- iPhone 4/4s: 960 x 640
- iPhone 5/5s/5c/SE: 1136 x 640
- iPhone 6/6s: 1334 x 750
- iPhone 6/6s Plus: 1920 x 1080
- iPad 1/2/Mini: 1024 x 768
- iPad 3/4/Air/Air 2/Pro 9.7"/Mini 2/ Mini 3/Mini 4: 2048 x 1536
- iPad Pro 12.9": 2732 x 2048
For those who enable the 3D "parallax" effect, slightly larger wallpaper dimensions are recommended to accommodate the shifting elements during device use. A dedicated guide detailing the creation of parallax wallpapers and their specific dimensions is available.
Changing Your Wallpaper: A Step-by-Step Guide
To begin customizing your iOS device’s wallpaper, first launch the "Settings" application from your home screen.
Scroll down within the Settings menu and select the "Wallpaper" option.
Tap on "Choose a New Wallpaper" to proceed.
You will then be presented with the two aforementioned options: utilizing an Apple-provided default wallpaper or selecting a photograph from your personal collection.
Choosing a default wallpaper allows you to select between "Dynamic" options, which feature subtle motion, and "Stills," which are static images.
To use a photo from your library, tap on "All Photos" located at the bottom of the screen.
Select the desired image to use as your new wallpaper.
You can then adjust the image’s positioning by tapping and dragging it across the screen.
Once satisfied with the placement, tap "Set" at the bottom of the screen.
A pop-up window will appear, offering the choice to apply the wallpaper to the lock screen, the home screen, or both.
Finally, press the Home button on your device to view your newly applied wallpaper.
