Change TV Volume with Apple TV Siri Remote - Easy Guide

Controlling Your TV Volume with the Apple TV Siri Remote
The Siri Remote included with the Apple TV 4 represents a significant improvement over earlier models, featuring both a trackpad and motion-sensing capabilities. A key addition is the inclusion of dedicated volume controls, designed to manage the volume of your television, soundbar, or audio receiver – eliminating the need for multiple remotes.
Setting Up Volume Control
While these volume buttons function intuitively, initial configuration is required. The Apple TV remote must be programmed to recognize the volume commands specific to your TV, soundbar, or receiver. Fortunately, this process is relatively simple, provided you know where to locate the necessary settings.
Begin by accessing the Settings application from the Apple TV’s home screen.
From the list of options, select "Remotes and Devices".
Scroll down the menu and choose "Volume Control".

If a setting labeled "TV via IR" is present, your television is compatible with HDMI-CEC. Simply selecting this option will enable the Apple TV remote to control your television’s volume.
Learning New Devices
Should the "TV via IR" option not be available, further setup is necessary. Select "Learn New Device" to begin the process.
Take the remote for your television, soundbar, or receiver and point it directly at the Apple TV. Then, press and hold the Volume Up button until the progress bar displayed on the screen is completely filled.
Following this, press and hold the Volume Down button until the progress bar is again fully filled.
Assign a descriptive name to the newly configured volume control. For example, "Soundbar" can be used if you are controlling the volume of your TV’s soundbar. Click "Done" to save your selection.
Finally, select "OK" to confirm the settings.
The new setting will now appear in the list, identified as "(Your custom name) via IR".
With these steps completed, the volume buttons on your Apple TV remote will now control the volume of your TV, eliminating the need to switch between multiple remote controls.
