Automating Speakerphone on Your iPhone

For iPhone users who frequently utilize the speakerphone function during calls, the repetitive action of tapping the speaker button can become tiresome. Fortunately, iOS provides a setting to automatically direct all incoming and outgoing calls to the speaker.

This functionality extends to both calls you initiate and those you receive, offering a streamlined experience. Furthermore, if a Bluetooth headset is preferred, it can be designated as the default audio output as well. This eliminates the need for manual selection each time your iPhone is used for a call.

The process of enabling this feature is straightforward, though its location within the settings menu isn't immediately obvious. The following steps will guide you through the configuration.

Accessing the Settings

Begin by opening the "Settings" application on your iPhone. Then, select the "General" category from the main settings list.

Within the General settings, locate and tap on "Accessibility".

Configuring Call Audio Routing

Inside the Accessibility menu, find and select "Call Audio Routing". By default, this setting is typically configured to "Automatic".

The Call Audio Routing options present three choices: "Automatic", "Bluetooth Headset" (if applicable), and "Speaker".

Selecting "Speaker" will ensure that all future calls, including FaceTime calls, are automatically routed through the iPhone's speaker.

Once the desired option is chosen, the setting is immediately applied. Your iPhone will now consistently use the selected audio output for all calls.
