Add Custom Characters to Apple Watch Monogram - Guide

Personalizing Your Apple Watch with the Color Watch Face
Your Apple Watch can be uniquely styled with various watch faces and complications. However, for a truly personalized experience, the "Color" watch face offers a distinctive "Monogram" complication. This allows you to showcase up to four characters directly on the watch face.
Customizing the Monogram Complication
The Monogram complication is surprisingly versatile. Here’s a guide on how to access its full range of customization options.
First, ensure the Color watch face is currently active on your Apple Watch. If it isn’t, press the digital crown to return to the watch face selection screen.

Swipe left or right through the available watch faces until you locate the Color watch face.

Once the Color watch face is selected, tap the “Customize” option.

The initial customization screen allows you to adjust the color of the watch face. Use the digital crown to select a different color if desired. Then, swipe left to proceed to the next customization screen.

This subsequent screen controls which complications are displayed. Tap on the central complication slot. The available choices are “None” or “Monogram”. Ensure “Monogram” is selected.

Return to the watch face by pressing the digital crown. You should now see the monogram placeholder at the top of the watch face.

Customizing the Monogram via Your iPhone
To personalize the monogram itself, use your iPhone. Open the “Watch” app on your Home screen.

Confirm that the “My Watch” screen is active. If not, tap the “My Watch” icon located at the bottom of the screen.

Within the “My Watch” screen, tap on “Clock”.

Select “Monogram” on the “Clock” screen.

The cursor will automatically position itself at the end of the existing monogram. Delete any existing characters and type your desired letters, numbers, or symbols using the keyboard. Tap “< Clock” at the top to return to the previous screen.

The characters you’ve entered will be displayed to the right of the “Monogram” option on the “Clock” screen.

Your customized monogram will now be visible on the Color watch face.

Adding Special Characters
For even greater personalization, you can incorporate special characters. The UniChar Picker app, available on the App Store, provides a comprehensive selection. Install the app and open it by tapping the “UniChar” icon on your Home screen.

Within UniChar, browse the available characters. As an example, let’s add the Apple logo. Navigate to the “Pictographs” section and tap on the Apple logo.

The Apple logo will appear in the “Recently Used” section. To copy it, tap and hold on the logo…

…until the “Copied” message appears.

Return to the “Monogram” screen in the “Watch” app. Delete the current monogram and then tap and hold in the input field until the “Paste” popup appears. Tap “Paste”.

The Apple logo will be inserted into the “Monogram” screen. Tap “Clock” at the top to save the changes and return to the Clock screen.

The Apple logo will now be displayed on the Color watch face.

The Apple Logo is now visible on your Color watch face.

Keep in mind that some characters may appear small on the Color watch face. Experiment with different characters to find what looks best—the possibilities are extensive.
