Honda & Acura EV Owners to Access Tesla Superchargers | June 2024

Honda and Acura Gain Access to Tesla Supercharger Network
Honda, along with its luxury division Acura, is preparing to expand charging options for its electric vehicle (EV) owners. They will be integrating with Tesla’s Supercharger network across North America.
Charging Access for Current Models
Beginning in June, drivers of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX EVs will gain the ability to utilize Tesla’s Supercharger stations. These vehicles currently utilize the CCS charging port standard, differing from Tesla’s proprietary technology.
Consequently, Honda and Acura customers will be required to acquire Honda-approved fast-charging adapters. These adapters will be available for purchase through authorized dealerships. Specific pricing information has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.
Adapter Availability and Location Information
Honda has stated that owners of the Prologue and ZDX will receive notifications regarding adapter availability via the HondaLink and Acura EV applications. These apps will also provide a directory of Supercharger locations that are authorized for use.
Transition to NACS Standard
In 2023, Honda committed to adopting Tesla’s charging standard, known as NACS (North American Charging Standard). Initially, the plan was to introduce a new EV model with the NACS port in 2025.
However, this timeline has been revised. The first Honda vehicle to feature the NACS port will be the Acura RSX, slated for release in 2026.
Future Honda 0 Series
Following the Acura RSX, the Honda 0 series models will also incorporate the NACS standard. These models were first unveiled at CES 2025.
Growing Network of Partners
Honda and Acura are joining a growing list of automakers that have secured access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. This includes companies such as Ford, General Motors, Lucid, and Rivian.
This report was updated to reflect the latest information concerning upcoming Honda models.
