Gttext is freely available as an open-source application, and it is designed for use with Windows operating systems. The installation package, an EXE file, is relatively small at 5.6 MB and installs rapidly.

Once installed, the program allows users to select an image containing text. It supports common image formats, including both JPG and PNG. The application provides built-in functionalities to enhance image quality, such as magnification and brightness adjustment, to improve text detection accuracy.

Users can then define the area containing text by drawing a rectangular selection around it with their mouse. The application will then process this region to detect and extract the text.

Alternatively, the entire image can be processed for text extraction without requiring a manual selection. While the extracted text may occasionally require minor corrections, this method remains significantly more efficient than manual typing, especially for lengthy documents.
