Google BeyondCorp Enterprise Now Generally Available

Google has revealed the general release of BeyondCorp Enterprise, a security platform utilizing a zero trust approach – mirroring the methods Google employs to safeguard its own network operations, eliminating the need for a traditional VPN. BeyondCorp Enterprise expands upon Google's current BeyondCorp Remote Access service by incorporating further capabilities designed for larger organizations. Google characterizes it as a zero trust system that facilitates secure access alongside integrated defense against threats and data loss.
Throughout recent years, Google – particularly its Cloud division – has actively promoted the zero trust security model and cultivated an extensive network of collaborators centered around this concept. This network encompasses prominent companies such as Check Point, Citrix, CrowdStrike, Symantec, and VMWare.
With BeyondCorp Enterprise, organizations gain a comprehensive zero trust solution encompassing a range of security measures. These include defenses against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, authentication methods resistant to phishing, the latest security enhancements within the Chrome browser, and the fundamental continuous authorization features that secure all interactions between users and resources protected by BeyondCorp.
“The accelerated adoption of cloud technologies and remote work arrangements is establishing flexible work environments with the potential to significantly boost productivity and foster innovation. However, these shifts have also introduced new security vulnerabilities and contributed to a notable rise in cyberattacks,” stated Fermin Serna, chief information security officer at Citrix. “To effectively counter these threats, businesses must adopt a sophisticated strategy for workspace security that prioritizes employee protection without hindering their workflow, adhering to the principles of zero trust.”
