Pixel Snap: Google's MagSafe Alternative for Pixel Phones
Google Introduces PixelSnap: A Magnetic Accessory System
Google has unveiled PixelSnap, its proprietary magnetic accessory system. This new technology enables the use of magnetic attachments with the recently released Pixel 10 series of smartphones.
The announcement arrives almost five years following Apple’s introduction of its own magnetic accessory ecosystem alongside the iPhone 12 in 2020.
According to the company, PixelSnap facilitates the attachment of a variety of accessories to the Pixel 10. These include wireless chargers, stands, grips, and other compatible devices. Google is simultaneously releasing its own line of PixelSnap cases and accessories designed to work seamlessly with the system.
Among the initial offerings is a Ring Stand. This accessory magnetically adheres to the back of the phone and features a retractable ring that can be deployed for use as a stand.
PixelSnap cases are available starting at $49.99. The PixelSnap Ring Stand is priced at $29.99, while the PixelSnap charger is offered at $39.99, and the charger with the stand costs $69.99.
Google confirms that the Pixel 10 series is compatible with accessories such as car mounts and chargers. It will also work with products from Made for Google partners, as well as select MagSafe accessories.
