Impact of Proposed Cuts to Federal Cybersecurity Staff

Rob Joyce, a previously high-ranking U.S. cybersecurity official, cautioned legislators on Wednesday regarding the potentially severe consequences of reducing the number of federal probationary employees.

Joyce, who served as the National Security Agency’s cybersecurity director until his retirement in 2024, delivered this assessment while testifying before the U.S. House Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.
