Ford Commercial Vehicle Leadership Team Announced | Ford

Ford Bolsters Commercial Vehicle Division with Key Executive Hires

Ford Motor Company has appointed six executives to leadership positions within its newly established commercial vehicles and services business unit. This strategic move precedes the launch of the E-Transit cargo van and the F-150 Lightning Pro pickup truck.

New Leadership Team

The automaker has sourced talent both internally and externally to build a robust leadership team for Ford Pro. These appointments signify Ford’s commitment to expanding its presence in the commercial vehicle market.

Muffi Ghadiali, formerly CEO of Electriphi – a company Ford acquired in June specializing in battery management and fleet monitoring software – will continue leading Electriphi while also heading Ford Pro’s charging initiatives.

Tim Baughman, previously Ford’s controller for U.S. marketing, sales, and service, has been named general manager of Ford Pro North America.

Navin Kumar, with a background at Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC, will serve as the new CFO for Ford Pro.

Expanding Expertise

Further strengthening the team, Tracey Pass joins as chief human resources officer, bringing experience from The Walt Disney Company.

Rahul Singh, formerly head of software development at Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC, assumes the role of CTO for the unit.

Wanda Young, previously chief marketing officer of Samsung Electronics America, will lead marketing efforts at Ford Pro.

European Leadership

Previously announced, Hans Schep will oversee operations as the general manager of Ford Pro Europe.

Beyond Vehicles: A Comprehensive Approach

Ford Pro’s focus extends beyond simply selling commercial vans. The division, under the direction of Ted Cannis, intends to provide comprehensive fleet management, maintenance, and charging solutions to its commercial clientele.

The company projects revenue generation of $45 billion from hardware and related services by 2025, a significant increase from the $27 billion recorded in 2019.

This revenue growth will be driven by offering a diverse range of vehicles – including combustion engine, hybrid, and all-electric options – alongside depot and home charging solutions, digital fleet management tools, a widespread service network, and financing options.

Market Position and Opportunities

Ford currently holds a leading position in the European commercial vehicle market, maintaining the top spot for six consecutive years.

In North America, Ford controls over 40% of the Class 1 through Class 7 full-size commercial truck and van segment.

Stricter emissions regulations, particularly in European urban centers, are creating new opportunities for market share gains.

Electric Vehicle Rollout

The E-Transit cargo van is slated for customer deliveries later this year, while the commercial version of the F-150 Lightning Pro is anticipated to arrive in spring 2022. These electric vehicles are central to Ford Pro’s strategic plans.
