Even Palm Wireless Earbuds: A New Contender

The Expanding Wireless Earbud Market
It wasn't long ago that questioning which consumer electronics companies hadn't entered the wireless earbud market would have drawn a puzzled response. In recent years, the proliferation of Bluetooth earbuds has been remarkable, with nearly every manufacturer releasing a model.
However, there remained at least one notable exception to this trend.
Palm's Re-emergence and New Product
Do you recall Palm? Specifically, the 2018 relaunch of the Palm brand facilitated by TCL? This reintroduction featured a uniquely designed “ultra-mobile” device, offering a fresh alternative in a market saturated with similar smartphones.
The brand also garnered support, including investment, from basketball star Stephen Curry.
While the possibility of an updated Palm PDA remains unconfirmed, the company has announced its entry into the wireless earbud sector with the Palm Buds Pro.
Palm Buds Pro: Features and Design
The Palm Buds Pro, priced at $129 (currently available for a limited time at $99), share a visual resemblance to the black AirPods, but with a more streamlined design.
The company highlights that designers previously associated with Beats by Dre and Samsung contributed to the development of these earbuds, promising “studio grade audio and enhanced bass” alongside active noise canceling capabilities.
Technical Specifications and Benefits
According to co-founder Howard Nuk, the Palm Buds Pro distinguish themselves through a focus on high-fidelity audio and powerful bass response.
The earbuds incorporate an advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Environmental Noise Cancelling (ENC) system. This system utilizes six microphones – three in each earbud – to deliver an immersive audio experience and ensure clear call quality even in windy environments.
“Our engineers have developed one of the most advanced Active Noise Cancelling and Environmental Noise Cancelling systems available,” Nuk stated in a press release.
Availability and Endorsement
Preorders for the Palm Buds Pro are being accepted now, with general sales commencing on November 9th. A $15 silicone protective case will also be available for purchase.
Stephen Curry endorses the Palm Buds Pro, stating they are his preferred choice for training sessions. His professional athletic status lends some weight to this claim.
