Elon Musk Sells $50 Tesla Cyberwhistle, Jokes About Whistleblowers

Tesla's Cyberwhistle: A Novel Accessory for Enthusiasts
Despite ongoing delays in the production of the Cybertruck, Tesla is offering enthusiasts a unique item to connect with the anticipated vehicle. A cyberwhistle, priced at $50, is now available for purchase.
Elon Musk's Promotion and a Playful Jab
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, announced the cyberwhistle on Tuesday via Twitter, sharing a link to the product page with his substantial following. His accompanying message, “Blow the whistle on Tesla,” has been interpreted as a playful reference to former employees who have publicly criticized the company.
Musk further promoted the whistle with a comparative tweet, suggesting customers forgo Apple’s expensive cleaning cloth in favor of Tesla’s offering.
Details of the Cyberwhistle
Upon visiting the product page, customers are presented with a cryptic message regarding an “integrated attachment.”
Speculation suggests this may indicate a provision for a lanyard, allowing users to wear the whistle around their necks.
Cybertruck and Other Tesla Lifestyle Products
The cyberwhistle is designed in the distinctive shape of the Cybertruck, which was initially unveiled in November 2019.
Originally slated for production in late 2021, the Cybertruck’s launch has been postponed to sometime in 2022, as indicated on Tesla’s website where a $100 refundable deposit can be placed.
This new item joins Tesla’s range of lifestyle products. These include a $150 decanter, a $45 desktop charger resembling a Tesla Supercharger, a $35 S3XY mug, and various die-cast vehicle models.
Production Delays Affect Multiple Models
Similar to the Cybertruck, the production of the Tesla Semi has also experienced delays, with its launch now anticipated in 2022.
Tesla continues to expand its merchandise offerings alongside its core electric vehicle business.
