Doorbox Unveils Next-Gen Smart Delivery Box at CES 2025

Addressing Package Theft with Innovative Delivery Solutions
Each year, a significant number of packages fall victim to theft. DoorBox is introducing a novel approach to package delivery with its intelligent package box.
This system boasts a design focused on preventing theft, incorporating live camera streams and an alarm system that activates upon any unauthorized access attempts.
Evolution of DoorBox Technology
Following the successful sale of 2,000 units of its initial, manually operated model, the company presented its latest innovation at CES 2025: Smart DoorBox.ai.
The new system leverages artificial intelligence to automatically unlock upon package detection, ensuring secure delivery even in the absence of the recipient.
The Founder's Story
DoorBox was established by Kumar Sundaresan, motivated by a personal experience involving the theft of a package containing irreplaceable items – his late father’s glasses and watch – shortly after it was delivered.
This venture represents Sundaresan’s fourth startup, building upon his prior experience founding three companies in the technology and online food ordering industries.
Enhanced Security Features
A key feature of DoorBox is its robust steel cable, designed to be secured to a doorknob or other fixed point.
Engineered to resist forces exceeding 800 pounds, the cable offers exceptional resistance to breakage, as stated by the company.
Should tampering occur, a high-volume, 125-decibel alarm is triggered, immediately alerting the user via a mobile application. The alarm can also be controlled manually through the app.
The box is capable of accommodating three to five packages of medium size.
Mobile App Functionality
Beyond alarm notifications, the mobile app functions as a surveillance tool, providing users with live camera feeds, particularly useful when expecting important deliveries.
Remote locking and unlocking of the DoorBox are also managed through the app.
Pricing and Subscription Details
The Smart DoorBox.ai is available for $400 (metal version) and $300 (plastic version).
A monthly subscription fee of $20 is required for access to the app’s features.
