Devialet Announces New Wireless Earbuds | High-Fidelity Audio

Renowned audio equipment creator Devialet is introducing its inaugural true wireless earbud model. Named the Devialet Gemini, these in-ear headphones incorporate active noise cancellation technology and are priced at £279 in the United Kingdom – with availability scheduled for the next few weeks.

The Devialet Gemini earbuds are fully wireless, meaning they lack a connecting cable between the individual units, similar to Apple’s AirPods. The company has secured three new patents specifically relating to this product.

They utilize a system of cascading decompression chambers, designed to ensure a secure and comfortable fit within the ear canal, and to maintain optimal pressure. A proper seal is essential for effective performance in in-ear headphones.

Each earbud is equipped with two microphones to facilitate the active noise cancellation functionality, alongside a separate microphone dedicated to voice calls and other speech-based interactions. Mirroring features found in the AirPods Pro, the Gemini offers a selection of ANC modes. Users can completely eliminate ambient sound or engage transparency modes to remain aware of their surroundings.

A choice of three ANC levels and two transparency mode settings is available. The company is also launching a companion mobile application to manage these configurations. Furthermore, a touch-sensitive control is located on the back of each earbud, enabling control of music playback, noise cancellation, or voice assistant activation.

The earbuds intelligently adapt the audio output to compensate for movement. This is achieved through a microphone that detects shifts in frequency. The app also provides guidance on selecting the most appropriate ear tip size for a personalized fit.

Devialet states the earbuds will deliver up to eight hours of playback on a single charge when ANC is disabled, and six hours with ANC enabled. The included charging case provides an additional 3.5 full charges and supports both Qi wireless charging and USB-C cable connectivity.
