Conduent Cybersecurity Incident: Outage Confirmed

Conduent Cybersecurity Incident Disrupts U.S. Support Services
Conduent, a U.S. government contractor specializing in technology for essential services, has acknowledged a recent service interruption stemming from a cybersecurity incident.
The company, which delivers support for programs like child support and food assistance, initially confirmed the disruption to TechCrunch on Tuesday.
Initial Response and System Restoration
At first, Conduent refrained from linking the outage to a potential breach of its systems, but later provided an update.
Sean Collins, a spokesperson for Conduent, subsequently confirmed to TechCrunch on Wednesday that the disruption was indeed “due to a cybersecurity incident.” The specific details of the incident, however, remain undisclosed.
“The incident has been contained, and all systems have been fully restored,” Collins stated.
Data Security and Ongoing Investigation
Conduent prioritizes the integrity and functionality of its systems, recognizing its importance to both the company and its clients.
Despite the restoration of services, Collins declined to provide additional information regarding the incident.
This includes whether the company has determined if any data was compromised or improperly accessed during the cybersecurity event.
Further investigation is underway to fully assess the scope and impact of the incident.
