BigBlue Automates E-commerce Fulfillment in Europe

Introducing Bigblue, a French company that has recently secured $3.6 million (€3 million) in seed funding to develop a comprehensive fulfillment service for businesses operating in Europe. If you market and sell goods through your own website and various online marketplaces, Bigblue offers a solution to manage all post-purchase processes.
Rather than attempting to create entirely new systems, Bigblue focuses on streamlining existing logistics networks. They achieve this by establishing partnerships with established logistics providers, allowing businesses to manage their fulfillment operations through a single point of contact – Bigblue. This approach involves collaboration with multiple fulfillment centers for product storage and a diverse range of shipping companies.
In essence, Bigblue empowers businesses to enhance the overall experience for their customers. Implementation involves sending your inventory to a fulfillment center and connecting Bigblue to your existing online sales channels. The company currently offers integrations with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix Store, Prestashop, Fastmag, and Amazon’s marketplace.
Upon receiving an order from a customer, the product is efficiently packed and shipped directly from the fulfillment center. Bigblue clients benefit from a predictable, per-order fee structure and require no direct involvement in the fulfillment process. Shipping is handled through various carriers, such as DHL or Chronopost, with Bigblue intelligently selecting the optimal provider for each shipment, ensuring transparency throughout.
The platform also provides enhanced insight into the shipping lifecycle. Businesses gain a clear overview of their operations, including real-time inventory visibility through Bigblue’s interface. Customers, in turn, receive professionally branded delivery notifications.
Building a robust logistics infrastructure can be particularly challenging for smaller e-commerce businesses. Bigblue provides a means to compete more effectively with larger e-commerce platforms like Amazon, enabling businesses to elevate the customer experience without the need for a dedicated, internal logistics department.
Samaipata is leading this investment round, with additional contributions from Bpifrance. Plug and Play, Clément Benoit, Thibaud Elziere, and Olivier Bonnet are also participating as investors.
The newly acquired funding will be used to expand the team by 50 employees and further refine the platform’s capabilities. Planned improvements include expanded integrations with e-commerce platforms, ERP systems, and marketplaces. Bigblue will also develop its own shipment tracking pages and a more customizable email communication toolkit, alongside enhancements to product return processes and delivery time estimations.
