Link Contacts to Social Networks in Windows 8 People App - Beginner Geek

Managing Duplicate Contacts in Windows 8 People App
Windows 8’s integrated People app offers the convenience of consolidating contact information from various social networking platforms. However, this aggregation can frequently result in the creation of duplicate contact entries.
Addressing Contact Duplication
When multiple contacts representing the same individual appear within the app, it’s essential to link them to maintain data integrity. This process prevents information loss and streamlines your contact management experience.
Here's a method for merging these duplicate contacts, ensuring no details are inadvertently discarded during the process.
Steps to Link Contacts
The People app provides a straightforward way to connect identical contacts. By utilizing this feature, you can effectively combine redundant entries into a single, comprehensive profile.
This ensures that all associated information – such as phone numbers, email addresses, and social media links – is readily accessible in one location.
Following these steps will help you maintain a clean and organized contact list within the Windows 8 People application.
Connecting Contacts Within the People App
The process of linking contacts is, in fact, relatively straightforward. However, the feature’s location can be somewhat obscured for those unfamiliar with the “Modern UI” interface. Begin by selecting the contact you intend to merge with another.

To reveal the App Bar at the screen’s base, perform a right-click action anywhere within the window. Subsequently, click on the “Link” option.

Windows 8 demonstrates considerable intelligence by attempting to predict the contact you wish to associate. In many instances, this prediction proves accurate. Simply choose the appropriate option displayed on the right-hand side.

Multiple contacts can be added for merging if desired. A list of all contacts slated for linkage will be visible on the left-hand side.

Once all desired profiles are selected for linking, another right-click will bring up the App Bar. Then, save the implemented changes.

The outcome is a single contact profile connected to all associated social media accounts.

This process also contributes to a more organized contact list.

That completes the entire procedure.
