Arc's Affordable 24-Foot Electric Boat - A New Option

Arc Introduces the Coast: A More Accessible Electric Boat
Arc, an electric boat startup, has unveiled its latest model, representing the most affordable and easily accessible watercraft in its current lineup.
Dubbed the Arc Coast, preorders are now being accepted for this new vessel, with an anticipated starting price of $168,000. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2026.
Designed for Versatility
The Coast is categorized as a “center console” boat, a design frequently favored for fishing applications. This addition expands Arc’s portfolio, joining the previously released limited edition Arc One ($300,000) and the Arc Sport ($268,000), the latter of which was piloted earlier this year.
This expansion is noteworthy considering the company emerged from stealth mode only four years ago.
Expanding into Commercial Applications
Recently, Arc announced its involvement in developing an electric tug boat intended for use at the Port of Los Angeles. This project underscores the company’s commitment to fulfilling founder and CEO Mitch Lee’s vision of electrifying all types of watercraft.
Performance and Capacity
The Coast utilizes the same 226kWh battery pack as the Arc Sport, maintaining a comparable size. This battery provides an operational range of four to five hours, potentially exceeding this duration based on usage of the 400 horsepower engine.
The boat is capable of reaching speeds of approximately 50 miles per hour and can accommodate up to ten passengers.
Key Differences and Design Features
Beyond the price point, the primary distinction between the Coast and the Sport lies in their layout. The “console,” or helm, is centrally positioned, facilitating greater freedom of movement around the boat’s perimeter.
The Coast maintains the high-quality fit and finish observed in Arc’s other models, as evidenced by the production-intent Sport driven in January.
Significant effort has also been dedicated to the software interface on the center console’s screens, offering a minimalist design while delivering comprehensive information.
Advantages of Electric Propulsion
Considering benefits such as the absence of fumes, the elimination of winterization requirements, and reduced noise levels, prospective buyers may find the still-substantial price tag justifiable upon its market release next year.
