iPhone 12 Models Compared: Mini, Pro, Pro Max - Differences

The era of Apple releasing just a couple of premier handsets is over. Customer expectations have significantly shifted in the more than thirteen years since the company’s initial smartphone launch, and its product line has adapted accordingly. Consequently, Apple is now focused on providing a wider selection of devices, differing in features, dimensions, and cost.

During today’s presentation, Apple unveiled four distinct phone models: the iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. Furthermore, the company will continue to offer the iPhone 11 at a reduced price, giving Apple’s user base an unprecedented number of choices when considering a new device, with initial prices spanning from $599 to $1,099. Higher storage options and other customizations will naturally increase the price.

All of the newly announced devices share several core characteristics: 5G capability, the innovative magnetic MagSafe connector, OLED displays, and the A14 chip, among other things. They also incorporate a new design, similar to the latest iPad Pro, featuring flat edges that accommodate additional antennas for enhanced next-generation wireless performance. Beyond these shared elements, however, the models vary in size, camera systems, and storage capacity.

Here’s a handy chart to keep it all straight:
