iPhone 18 Launch Delayed? Apple's Two-Phase Plan for 2026

iPhone 18 Launch Strategy: A Staggered Release

According to reports from The Information, citing sources within the supply chain, Apple is considering a phased rollout for the iPhone 18, anticipated in 2026.

This strategy involves a roughly six-month separation between the availability of different models.

Differentiated Release Timelines

The iPhone 18 Pro variants are currently slated for a traditional fall 2026 release.

However, the more affordable iPhone 18 models, alongside a refreshed iPhone 16e, are projected to become available in spring 2027.

Furthermore, a potential foldable iPhone device could also debut in fall 2026, as indicated by the report.

Future iPhone Models and Manufacturing Shifts

Bloomberg has previously reported on Apple’s plans for a thinner iPhone, tentatively named “iPhone 17 Air,” expected to launch this year.

A successor to this model is also anticipated to be released in 2026, as per The Information.

Reducing Reliance on China

To mitigate the impact of potential tariffs and lessen its dependence on Chinese manufacturing, Apple is exploring the possibility of producing the lower-cost iPhone 18 models in India.

This move is intended to safeguard profit margins in light of evolving trade policies.
