Apple Music Sound Therapy: Focus, Relax & Sleep

Apple Music Launches Sound Therapy for Enhanced Wellbeing
Apple Music is unveiling a novel feature known as Sound Therapy, a curated collection of tracks focused on audio wellness. This initiative is a collaboration with Universal Music Group (UMG), aiming to provide users with tools for improved mental and emotional states.
How Sound Therapy Works
The core concept involves blending familiar songs with specific sound waves designed to encourage focusing, relaxation, and better sleep. Subscribers will find a unique integration of music they already enjoy with scientifically-backed audio techniques.
These techniques include the use of auditory beats and colored noise. Colored noise utilizes varying frequencies, categorized by color, to create specific auditory experiences.
Exploring Different Soundscapes
For example, pink noise – often resembling the sounds of rainfall or wind – is combined with delta waves to facilitate sleep. This combination aims to create a soothing and conducive environment for rest.
The Focus category within Sound Therapy utilizes gamma auditory beats paired with white noise. This pairing is intended to enhance concentration and cognitive function.
Conversely, the Relax group incorporates theta auditory beats, promoting a sense of calm and encouraging users to unwind.
Featured Artists and Production
The collection showcases music from a diverse range of artists, including Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Ludovico Einaudi, AURORA, Jhené Aiko, Chelsea Cutler, and Jeremy Zucker.
These tracks have been transformed into extended, instrumental versions by the team at Sollos, UMG’s music wellness venture located in London. Producers and audio engineers meticulously crafted these versions to maximize their therapeutic benefits.
Expanding Apple Music’s Wellness Offerings
This new addition complements the recently introduced Apple Music Chill radio station. Chill also provides calming sounds, interspersed with mindful moments and soothing narratives.
Apple Music continues to expand its offerings beyond traditional music streaming, demonstrating a commitment to user wellbeing through innovative features like Sound Therapy.
