Apple Maps COVID-19 Travel Guidance - Airports Worldwide

Apple Maps Enhancements for COVID-19 Travel Information
Apple has recently enhanced its built-in Maps application with expanded data to support travelers and help reduce the transmission of COVID-19.
The updated Apple Maps, available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, now displays COVID-19 health and safety protocols for airports.
Airport COVID-19 Information
When users search for airports within the app, they will be presented with relevant COVID-19 information.
This information is delivered either through a direct link to the airport’s official COVID-19 advisory website, or directly on the airport’s information card within Apple Maps.
Global Coverage and Data Source
This new functionality is the result of a collaboration with Airports Council International.
The partnership provides details regarding COVID-19 safety protocols at more than 300 airports globally.
Types of Information Provided
The information encompasses a range of safety measures, including:
- COVID-19 testing requirements
- Mandatory mask policies
- Health screening processes
- Current quarantine regulations
The aim is to streamline the travel experience during the ongoing pandemic and support the anticipated resurgence of global travel as vaccination efforts progress.
Additional COVID-19 Features
Earlier this month, Apple integrated COVID-19 vaccination locations within the United States into Apple Maps.
These locations can be discovered through text searches, Siri voice commands, or by utilizing the app’s “Find nearby” feature.
Previously, the company had added COVID-19 testing sites worldwide and incorporated COVID-19 information modules into business listings.
