Apple WWDC 2024: iOS, macOS, watchOS Updates - Everything Announced

Apple Releases a Suite of OS Updates
The week has begun with significant activity at Apple. The technology giant has released a comprehensive set of operating system updates, encompassing iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. These updates arrive in anticipation of the Worldwide Developers Conference, scheduled to commence virtually on June 7th.
iOS and iPadOS 14.6: Key Features
iOS and iPadOS are central to this release, given their widespread deployment across Apple devices. The public version of iOS/iPadOS 14.6 introduces notable enhancements, including the capability for paid podcast subscriptions and the launch of Apple Card Family. Both features were initially unveiled during a recent product announcement.
The new subscription model empowers podcast creators to monetize their content through paid access. Apple will receive a 30% commission on these subscriptions during the first year, which will then be reduced to 15% after a year has passed.
Apple Card Family and macOS Updates
Apple Card Family allows users to share their Apple Card with family members, distributing financial responsibilities accordingly. macOS 11.4 expands graphics card compatibility, addresses several software bugs, and incorporates support for paid podcast subscriptions, mirroring the iOS update.
watchOS and tvOS Enhancements
watchOS 7.5 also gains support for paid podcast subscriptions and Apple Card Family. Furthermore, it introduces expanded health features for users in Malaysia and Peru, alongside Apple Card expense tracking capabilities. tvOS/HomePod 14.6 focuses on bug resolutions and adjustments to color balance.
