iPhone 17 Event: Apple Announces September 9th Date

Apple Announces iPhone 17 Event Date
Today, Apple officially announced its upcoming event dedicated to the unveiling of the iPhone 17. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, mirroring the date chosen for last year’s launch.
Invitations to the event have begun distribution, extending to members of the press and interested parties. The presentation will take place at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California, commencing at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
Expected iPhone 17 Lineup
Industry expectations point towards Apple releasing a standard model alongside two iPhone 17 Pro variants. Speculation also suggests a potential shift in the lineup, with the possibility of replacing the Plus model.
A new, streamlined iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be introduced. Reports indicate this device could boast a remarkably thin profile of 5.5 mm, coupled with a 6.6-inch display. This would represent a reduction of 0.08 inches in thickness compared to existing models.
Display and Feature Updates
The standard iPhone 17 is anticipated to feature an enlarged 6.3-inch screen. A significant upgrade is also expected in the display’s refresh rate, moving to 120Hz from the previous 60Hz.
Beyond iPhones: Apple Watch and AirPods
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is widely expected to reveal updates to its Apple Watch series. This includes the Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3 models.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is projected to be a particularly noteworthy release, featuring an increased screen size and enhanced fast-charging capabilities.
Furthermore, the company may unveil the AirPods Pro 3, marking three years since the last Pro AirPods generation. These new earbuds are expected to incorporate a more compact design.
Improvements are also anticipated in noise cancellation and audio processing, driven by a new chip. Touch-sensitive controls are also reportedly being considered for the AirPods Pro 3.
