apple brings back its ‘i’m a pc’ spokesman for arm-based mac launch event

During today's presentation of their new Macs powered by their own Arm-based processors, Apple reintroduced actor John Hodgman for a quick appearance. He once again played the part of the somewhat awkward “I’m a PC” character, this time used to playfully criticize computers still utilizing Intel processors as Apple transitions to its own silicon.
This brief segment followed the conclusion of Tuesday’s “One More Thing” segment, where Apple unveiled their latest M1 chip and the redesigned models of the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini. Hodgman’s character was shown in a white setting accompanied by the familiar music from the original advertising campaign, and he highlighted some of the improvements in energy efficiency found in the new devices.
Interestingly, Justin Long did not make an appearance, and it remains unknown if Hodgman’s involvement will be limited to this single event or if Apple intends to launch a series of retro-style advertisements. Regardless, the cameo served as an enjoyable reference to a well-remembered Apple marketing effort.
