Anker 2K Webcam: Built-in Lighting, Speakers & $220 Price

The Rise of Enhanced Remote Work Equipment
An increase in high-quality remote work gear is anticipated this week. Significant improvements are still possible within this sector. As we enter the third year of the ongoing global pandemic, it's reasonable to expect that many hardware manufacturers have developed new products.
Webcams are currently the most developed category in this space. For a considerable period, Logitech has dominated the market. This is largely because, until recently, standalone devices were often an afterthought for many users.
Anker's New Video Bar
With the prevalence of video conferencing, there's a substantial opportunity for innovation. Recent discussions have highlighted Opal’s potential, but further competition is expected. Anker’s key advantage lies in its pricing strategy.
The Video Bar is priced at $220, which is lower than premium webcams like Opal. However, it has a maximum resolution of 2K/30 FPS. This should be sufficient for typical teleconferencing requirements.
The device features an integrated, adjustable lighting bar. While it won't replace a dedicated ring light, it can improve visibility in poorly lit environments, a common issue during video calls. A MagicSight feature automatically adjusts lighting, and the accompanying app manages settings like white balance.
A built-in microphone and speaker system complete this all-in-one package. The system will be available starting January 25.
Compact GaN Charger
Anker has also introduced another exceptionally small GaN charger. This new model delivers 100W of power, which is adequate for most laptops.
The charger includes two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. When multiple devices are connected, the power output will be distributed accordingly.
This charger is priced at $79 and is expected to ship in March.
