Amazon Prime Big Deals Day: October 7-8 Sales Event

Amazon Announces Prime Big Deals Day in October

In keeping with its established yearly schedule, Amazon will host a second major sales event for Prime members this year, known as Prime Big Deals Day. This event is scheduled for October 7-8, with promotional pricing commencing at 12:01 a.m. PT on October 7.

Leveraging AI for Enhanced Shopping

Amazon anticipates that shoppers will actively utilize a range of AI-powered tools during the event. These include the Rufus shopping assistant, designed to aid in product discovery.

Furthermore, visual search functionalities like Amazon Lens and Lens Live will be available. These tools enable customers to identify products by simply pointing their device’s camera at an object and searching Amazon’s catalog.

The new Alexa+ conversational assistant will also be integrated, allowing users to monitor deals in a more interactive manner.

Pre-Event Deals and Prime Member Benefits

Prior to the main event, Amazon is releasing a series of early deals. These include price reductions on Amazon devices and products sold under the Amazon brand.

Discounts on Kindle books and merchandise from artists available through Amazon Music or Amazon.com are also being offered as part of the pre-event promotions.

Prime members will receive exclusive advantages, such as early access to tickets for the musical “Wicked: For Good”.

Additional benefits for Prime members include savings on fuel purchases, discounted McDonald’s meals via GrubHub+, and increased cashback rewards for Prime Young Adult members.

Global Availability

The Prime Big Deals Day event will be accessible to customers in numerous countries. These include Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.S., and the U.K.

This year marks the first time the event will be extended to include Colombia, Ireland, and Mexico, broadening its global reach.

Success of the July Prime Day

Amazon’s initial Prime Day event of 2024, held in July, proved highly successful. The broader retail sector experienced $24.1 billion in online sales over the four-day period.

This represents a substantial year-over-year increase of 30.3%, as reported by Adobe Analytics.

Notably, over 50% of these sales originated from mobile devices, a first for the event, according to the Adobe Analytics report.
