Amazon In-Garage Delivery Expands to 4,000 US Cities

Despite the numerous conveniences Amazon provides for shoppers, the final stage of delivery – often called the “last mile” – can sometimes present challenges. Amazon’s Key program is designed to resolve these difficulties, providing a solution for package delivery even when homeowners are not present or are unavailable.
Amazon presently provides delivery options to homes, vehicles, and garages. The garage delivery service, initially introduced in 2019 across 50 cities, has expanded to encompass over 4,000 locations, as stated by the company. This coverage includes major metropolitan areas such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Houston, Boston, Atlanta, and Phoenix, alongside numerous smaller communities. A special mention goes to Astoria, New York.
This capability is available to Amazon Prime subscribers who utilize a myQ-compatible garage door opener, granting drivers secure access. Beyond its current delivery services, Amazon is also introducing in-garage grocery delivery to a select number of cities beginning today, including Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. Initially, this service will be available in specific zones and will be broadened to additional cities across the U.S. at a later, currently undefined, date.
