Quick Access to Folders via the Taskbar
For optimal efficiency, many users prefer rapid access to frequently used folders on their desktop. A convenient method to achieve this is by pinning a folder directly to the taskbar. This allows for immediate access without navigating through multiple windows.
Adding the Computer Menu to the Taskbar
The Computer menu can be added as a folder to the taskbar, providing quick access to all your drives. This technique is also applicable to any other folder you wish to readily access.
To add a folder to the taskbar, initiate a right-click on an empty area of the taskbar. From the context menu, select Toolbars, and then choose New Toolbar.
A file explorer window will appear. Navigate to and select the desired folder. In this case, we will select the Computer icon and then click Select Folder.
The Computer folder will now be visible on your taskbar. Clicking the small upward-pointing arrows will expand the folder, allowing you to browse through all connected drives.
Additional Folders for Enhanced Accessibility
Consider adding other frequently used folders to the taskbar for even greater convenience.
For example, adding the Desktop folder to the toolbar can significantly streamline your workflow.
Compatibility with Windows 7
This method for adding folders to the taskbar is fully compatible with Windows 7, offering the same benefits across different operating system versions.
