Microsoft has announced that the highly anticipated Xbox Series X Mini Fridge will be available for purchase during the holiday season, as initially indicated. The unit is priced at $100, and pre-orders are scheduled to begin on October 19th.

Shipments of the mini fridge are expected to commence in December. The product’s development stemmed from a viral image shared by Xbox on Twitter, illustrating the dimensions of the Xbox Series X console in comparison to a standard refrigerator.

From Viral Meme to Reality

Following the initial tweet, Microsoft constructed a full-sized, six-foot replica of the console as a promotional item for its launch. A subsequent online competition, dubbed a "battle of the brands," ultimately led to the creation of this smaller, commercially available version.

Features and Specifications

The mini fridge was developed in collaboration with merchandise specialist Ukonic!. It features integrated LEDs and a design mirroring the aesthetics of the Xbox Series X console.

This compact appliance is capable of storing up to 12 standard-sized cans of beverages, such as energy drinks. Additional storage space is provided on the door’s shelving for snacks.

Included with the fridge is a DC power adapter. A convenient USB port is also incorporated, offering a potential power source for recharging an Xbox Wireless Controller.

Regional Availability

In the United States and Canada, the mini fridge will be sold exclusively through Target stores. Customers in the United Kingdom can purchase the unit from Game for £90.

Initial shipments will also extend to France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, and Poland. Microsoft intends to expand the Xbox Mini Fridge’s availability to additional markets in the coming year.

However, the timing and location of these future releases are contingent upon obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals and navigating any existing restrictions within each respective country.
