you can now embed apple podcasts on the web

Apple is streamlining the process of finding and enjoying podcasts through web browsers. The company recently announced the launch of an Apple Podcasts embeddable web player, providing a means for creators, listeners, and marketing professionals to create embed codes for the extensive library of over 1.5 million podcasts featured on Apple Podcasts.
These codes are generated either through the Apple Podcasts Preview pages online or via the Apple Podcasts Marketing Tools platform.
To generate a code from a Preview page – for either a podcast series or a specific episode – users should first select the share icon. A new “embed” option will then appear on the left side of the screen.
Alternatively, using the Marketing Tools website involves entering the web address of the desired podcast or episode. Scrolling to the bottom of the page will then reveal the embed player options.
Within these options, users can customize the player’s dimensions to fit their needs, or maintain the standard size of 450 pixels wide by 660 pixels high. Once configured, the “Copy Embed” button duplicates the code to the clipboard for easy pasting into other locations.
Here’s an illustration of how the embedded player appears:
When users encounter this embedded player on a website, they can begin listening to the podcast directly and can also open the Apple Podcasts application on their iOS, iPadOS, or macOS devices to discover further details about the show or subscribe to it.
This new functionality is designed to help Apple maintain and expand its listener base within its own podcasting ecosystem. This launch occurs as competitors, notably Spotify, are increasing their investment in the podcasting space. Spotify is actively acquiring podcasting studios and advertising technologies, alongside the introduction of new resources and features for both podcast creators and listeners. Spotify currently provides a similar embed feature to direct users to its platform.
Apple confirms that the Apple Podcasts web embed is available for use starting today.
