Woven Adds New Features to $20/Month Premium Calendar Plan

The market for productivity software has experienced significant growth recently, but despite the emergence of numerous excellent note-taking applications, consumers have seen limited high-quality alternatives to Google Calendar.

This week, Woven, a calendar company established by former Facebook CIO Tim Campos, is introducing enhancements to its premium software tier, anticipating that users focused on productivity will subscribe to further refine their calendar management, similar to their adoption of subscription email services such as Superhuman and note-taking platforms like Notion.

The productivity sector has attracted substantial investment, demonstrating considerable potential for growth within organizations by initially targeting individual consumers. Woven has secured approximately $5 million in funding from investors including Battery Ventures, Felicis Ventures, and Tiny Capital.

“Our most precious resource is time,” Campos communicated to TechCrunch. “We believe there is a significant opportunity to substantially improve the capabilities of the calendar.”

The newly released product will reveal the extent of demand for a professional-grade calendar designed to simplify the lives of professionals beyond the features offered by Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar. This new offering, priced at $20 per month ($10 during an early access period with annual payment), expands upon the company’s existing free version, providing users with several new functionalities. The free tier remains available, though it lacks support for multiple accounts, which is a key limitation.

woven adds to its calendar app’s $20/mo premium planA central component of Woven’s appeal is its scheduling links, similar to Calendly, which enable individuals to readily display their availability or allow teams to streamline meeting scheduling by identifying mutually available times. With this latest release, the company has also introduced Open Invite, a feature that allows users to distribute links for webinar registration, simplifying the sign-up process for recipients.

A prominent feature of Woven is Smart Templates, which learns from user behavior to reduce the time required for meeting organization. Selecting a template can automatically generate a one-time Zoom link, request participant availability using Woven’s scheduling links, and manage routine tasks. The template titles now dynamically adjust based on participant details, location, or company information. Recognizing that much productivity occurs on mobile devices, the startup is also innovating in this area, having integrated with iMessage to facilitate quick sharing of availability and meeting scheduling within chats.

These product updates follow the recent announcement of the company’s Zoom “Zapp,” which integrates the app’s features directly within Zoom and is expected to be a significant draw for new users.
