Winamp Android Player 1.0 Released - News

Winamp Launches Android 1.0 Client
Winamp has recently made available its Winamp 1.0 client for Google Android devices. This allows users to wirelessly synchronize their music library from Winamp Desktop to their Android device via a Wi-Fi network.
The Winamp Android application is available for free download here, or directly through the Android Market here.
SHOUTcast Integration and Compatibility
Android devices running version 2.2 and higher are capable of connecting to SHOUTcast, a free online radio directory service. SHOUTcast boasts a vast collection of thousands of radio stations.
Users can conveniently browse these stations directly from the Winamp home screen.

Redesigned Interface and Features
Winamp has implemented a complete redesign of both the home screen and the "Now Playing" screens. The application now offers genre-based browsing and a robust search function.
Track changes can be navigated using a simple left or right swipe gesture. Furthermore, Winamp can be activated using Google’s voice command, “Listen to”.

The "Now Playing" screen displays comprehensive information, including album art, track title, and artist details. Holding down on the song information provides interaction options with Pandora, YouTube, and the Amazon MP3 store.
Free Track Downloads
A newly introduced feature enables users to download complimentary tracks directly from the Winamp for Android home screen. Tracks can be streamed individually before being downloaded to the Android device at no cost.

Persistent Controls and Widgets
Player controls are consistently visible while using the Winamp application, ensuring easy access to both the home screen and track navigation features.
Widgets are also available for Winamp playlists and the player itself, providing quick access to your preferred music.

Last.fm Scrobbling and Language Support
If the Last.fm client is installed on the device, Winamp will support track scrobbling to Last.fm.
The latest Winamp client supports 12 different languages and incorporates bug fixes implemented since the initial release.
