walnut raises $3.5m from ron conway and others to stop remote sales pitches breaking

With the increased prevalence of remote sales strategies spurred by recent global events, Walnut – positioning itself as a simplified platform for sales organizations, similar to Wix for website creation – has secured $3.5 million in funding. This investment comes from SV Angel, led by Ron and Topher Conway, and A.Capital, spearheaded by Ronny Conway and previous partners from a16z. This latest round elevates the company’s total funding to $6 million. Additional investors participating in this round include NFX, Joe Montana, the CEO of Wix, Immad Akhund, and Kenny Stone.

Walnut addresses the challenges of coordination between sales teams and internal support departments, as well as the issue of unreliable sales demonstrations during client interactions. A sales representative accesses the platform’s central interface connected to the product they are offering and utilizes Walnut to select specific pages and functionalities. These elements are then isolated from the core system and presented as a customized front-end experience within Walnut’s cloud environment, allowing for tailored adjustments based on individual client needs. Essentially, the platform facilitates the creation of customized web experiences specifically designed for sales presentations.

The company is presently collaborating with large-scale organizations such as Varonis and Adobe. Although operating within the same competitive landscape as Gong.io, Walnut anticipates that its technically focused methodology of separating the front-end presentation from the back-end infrastructure will contribute to its continued growth and success.
