Locationbar2 - Clear Domain Names in Your Browser

Enhancing Domain Name Visibility with Locationbar2 for Firefox
Are you seeking a straightforward method to improve the visibility of a website’s domain name, thereby reducing the risk of spoofing? Locationbar2, a Firefox extension, provides a solution. This tool is designed to help users quickly identify the legitimate domain they are visiting.
How Locationbar2 Functions
Consider the standard appearance of a website address in the Address Bar prior to installing Locationbar2. After the extension is installed, a noticeable change in the display of the website address will be observed.
Specifically, all components of the address, excluding the core domain name itself, are rendered in gray. This visual distinction immediately draws attention to the crucial part of the URL.
Customization Options
The extension offers a range of customization options to tailor the appearance and functionality to your preferences. Users can revert the graying effect, embolden the domain name, select a specific color for the domain, or ensure the “Go” button is consistently visible.
In our example configuration, we’ve chosen to “Always show the Go button”, display the “Domain Name as strong” (bold), and apply a custom color to the domain name for enhanced visibility. The sub-domain portions of the address continue to be displayed in gray.
Improved Address Bar Clarity
Let's revisit the Address Bar. With the sub-domain elements grayed out, the colorized and bold domain name is even more prominent and easily identifiable!
It’s important to note that hovering the mouse cursor over the Address Bar will temporarily restore the website address to its default appearance (plain black text).
