Superpeer Raises $8M to Launch Paid Video Mentoring Channels

Superpeer, a company enabling professionals to share and profit from their expertise online, has announced a further $8 million in funding.
As previously reported in March, the Superpeer platform empowers experts to market, schedule, and receive payment for individual video consultations with those seeking their guidance.
Alongside this funding announcement, the company is expanding its offerings beyond one-on-one interactions with the introduction of paid channels. These channels allow experts to charge a recurring subscription for access to group video sessions and chat features. Co-founder and CEO Devrim Yasar explained that channels increase expert accessibility, enabling them to reach a wider audience through more affordable sessions.
“It can be challenging to propose a rate of, for example, $500 per hour for a personal consultation,” Yasar stated. (For clarification: I would not personally make such an offer.) “However, offering a channel with a subscription price of $1 or $5 makes expertise feel more attainable.”
Furthermore, experts can continue to provide (and charge a premium for) individual meetings for subscribers who require more in-depth attention following a channel session.
We are currently observing a growing trend of online mentoring and content creation as a viable income stream, particularly in light of recent global events. Last week, Squarespace introduced a new paywall feature known as Member Areas, and I have also covered another video mentoring platform called Prox.
Yasar recognizes the increasing competition within this space, but asserts that Superpeer is focused on establishing itself as the preferred platform for prominent thinkers and public figures—he playfully described the company’s vision as “OnlyFans for brains.”
“For intellectuals, those with established audiences, or TED speakers with millions of video views, there has historically been a lack of platforms to effectively monetize their reach,” Yasar explained. “Options were limited to writing books or appearing as guests at events. These individuals may not wish to utilize platforms like YouTube or Instagram, as they do not align with their professional image.”
In addition to its branding efforts, Yasar highlighted Superpeer’s commitment to developing a streamlined video experience directly within the web browser.
This latest funding round was led by Acrew Capital, Audacious Ventures, Homebrew, Moxxie Ventures, Brianne Kimmel, Scott Belsky and OnDeck, bringing Superpeer’s total funding to $10 million.
Yasar indicated that the company will be investing in expanding its teams focused on growth, partnerships, and revenue generation. They also plan to provide financial incentives for experts through a brand ambassador program, the specifics of which are still being finalized.
Those interested in learning more about the platform are invited to attend a free session at noon Eastern tomorrow, featuring Yasar and investors from Eniac Ventures.
