Providing novel treatment options to those with the greatest need has been a core principle for Twentyeight Health from the beginning. A new collaboration with the rapidly growing company Healthify will now allow for a broader scope of service.

Healthify collaborates with managed-care organizations and support professionals to incorporate social determinants of health into standard healthcare practices.

Recent studies demonstrate the substantial impact of social circumstances on a patient’s health, and both Twentyeight Health and Healthify are dedicated to improving access to care.

Twentyeight Health provides affordable birth control pills, patches, rings, injections, and emergency contraception – often covered by insurance plans, including Medicaid.

This integration with Healthify will enable the company to distribute its services via health plans and healthcare providers utilizing Healthify’s platform to identify social factors potentially affecting treatment, according to a company statement.

“This collaboration is particularly timely, as many women in underserved communities require prescription delivery or telehealth options due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” explained Amy Fan, co-founder of Twentyeight Health. “Partnering with Healthify will reinforce our commitment to ensuring that all women seeking birth control can obtain it.”

In the two years since its inception, Twentyeight Health now provides services in six states: Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

“By working together, we can amplify Twentyeight Health’s positive influence by making their services available to individuals who need low-cost or free birth control options,” stated Manik Bhat, founder and CEO of Healthify.

Healthify has secured $25.5 million in funding from investors such as Primary Venture Partners and BlueCross Blue Shield Venture Partners. Twentyeight Health recently completed a $5 million seed funding round, supported by investors including Third Prime and Town Hall Ventures.
