Trump Demands Microsoft Fire Lisa Monaco - Latest News

Trump Calls for Microsoft to Terminate Lisa Monaco's Employment
Former President Donald Trump publicly stated on Friday that Microsoft should dismiss Lisa Monaco from her position as president of global affairs.
Trump’s statement referenced Monaco’s prior service as a senior National Security aide during the Barack Obama administration.
Details of Trump's Criticism
He further highlighted her tenure as a Deputy Attorney General under both Attorney General Merrick Garland and President Joe Biden, characterizing her as being focused on “Lawfare and Weaponization.”
According to Trump, Monaco’s current position at Microsoft grants her access to “Highly Sensitive Information,” a situation he considers “unacceptable.”
“It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Background on Lisa Monaco’s Career
As pointed out by Trump, Monaco has served under both the Obama and Biden administrations in significant roles.
Earlier this year, Trump revoked Monaco’s security clearance, alongside those of President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and members of the Biden family.
Microsoft and Loomer’s Responses
A representative for Microsoft declined to provide a comment regarding Trump’s assertions.
Monaco assumed her role at Microsoft in May, where she is responsible for overseeing the company’s cybersecurity policies and its interactions with governments worldwide.
Laura Loomer, a far-right activist and supporter of Trump, has consistently voiced criticism of Microsoft’s decision to hire Monaco on X.
Loomer has also expressed concerns about Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s origins, noting he was “born in India,” and accused him of “disgraceful scammer behavior.”
Following Trump’s post, Loomer reiterated her call for the president to “cancel all of Microsoft’s government contracts.”
Previous Actions Against Tech Executives
This instance is not isolated; Trump has previously demanded the resignation of Intel president Lip-Bu Tan due to perceived conflicts of interest.
Subsequently, after Intel provided the government with a 10% stake in exchange for previously allocated funding, Trump lauded Tan as a “Highly Respected Chief Executive Officer.”
