VivaTech 2025: Top 30 Startups for Innovation of the Year

Celebrating Groundbreaking Innovation at VivaTech 2025
The Innovation of the Year award acknowledges the most pioneering and forward-thinking startups showcased at VivaTech 2025. This prestigious award is open to all companies exhibiting and recognizes those who are actively reshaping their respective industries. Evaluation was based on three key criteria: Innovation & Creativity, Market Disruption, and Scalability.
From a substantial pool of applicants, a shortlist of 30 exceptional startups was selected. The five highest-ranking contenders will present their concepts live at VivaTech on June 11th. The ultimate winner will be announced during the VivaTech Global Awards Ceremony on June 12th.
A Prize Package for Future Leaders
The winning startup will receive a valuable opportunity to pitch their idea at the awards ceremony. Additionally, they will be granted a complimentary Startup Corner at VivaTech 2026. A highly sought-after place in the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 is also included in the prize package. This award isn’t simply about recognizing promising concepts; it’s about celebrating the teams that are translating ambitious visions into impactful solutions.
Exceptional Applicants Demonstrate Breakthrough Thinking
This year’s submissions were truly remarkable. The range of innovation was astounding, encompassing technologies like transforming eyewear into assistive devices for the visually impaired. Other projects included the development of photonic chips poised to revolutionize computing and methods for converting mining byproducts into carbon capture systems.
We observed advancements in areas such as microrobotic swarms designed for space exploration, brain-computer interfaces enabling mind-controlled devices, and bioelectronic implants offering new hope in the fight against brain cancer. These startups are significantly advancing the fields of science, design, and engineering.
Focus Areas and Bold Vision
Particular emphasis was placed on innovations within sustainability, human-machine interfaces, advanced diagnostics, and accessible healthcare. What particularly impressed the judges was the sheer audacity of these ventures. These teams aren’t merely addressing existing problems; they are actively constructing the future.
Selecting just five finalists, and ultimately a single winner, presents a considerable challenge. Each of the 30 shortlisted startups has already demonstrated a remarkable level of achievement.
