TikTok Announces Inaugural U.S. TikTok Awards

TikTok revealed on Monday its plans to host its first-ever TikTok Awards show within the United States. The ceremony will recognize excellence across various categories, including Creator of the Year, Video of the Year, Muse of the Year, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year, among others.

A Response to Industry Trends

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Instagram’s recent introduction of its own “Ring” awards program. However, TikTok is adopting a more conventional approach to its recognition event. Unlike Instagram, TikTok will host a live awards show with a physical presence.

The event promises a traditional awards show experience, complete with a red carpet, live performances, and a live audience comprised of hundreds of content creators, according to TikTok.

The TikTok Awards will be held on December 18th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Viewers can tune in to the livestream via the TikTok application itself, as well as through Tubi.

For those unable to watch live, the show will be available for on-demand streaming on Tubi beginning the following day.

TikTok users will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred creators through a dedicated portal launching on the TikTok platform on November 18th. This allows for direct community participation in recognizing top talent.
