Threads Gains Momentum: Reaching 100 Million Daily Active Users

Meta's microblogging platform, Threads, is experiencing substantial growth since its initial release last year.

This expansion appears to be linked to a shift in users away from its competitor, X, which occurred in recent months.

User Statistics and Growth

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced on Monday that over 100 million individuals are actively using Threads on a daily basis.

The platform’s monthly active user base has also increased, now standing at 300 million, a rise from the 275 million reported in November.

Previously, Meta had consistently shared data regarding monthly active users, but this marks the first disclosure of daily active user numbers.

Competitive Landscape and Feature Releases

Over the last month, Meta has been proactively publishing statistics and introducing new features.

This strategy coincides with a similar benefit experienced by the social network Bluesky, which boasts over 25 million users, as individuals migrate from X.

Adam Mosseri recently highlighted that Threads has maintained a consistent rate of one million new sign-ups each day for the past three months.

Attracting and Retaining Users

Meta has focused on enhancing the platform to attract a wider audience.

Recent additions include customizable feeds, Starter Packs – curated lists of accounts for new users to follow – and the ability to personalize the default feed.

These features are designed to improve user experience and encourage continued engagement with the Threads platform.
