At CES 2025, Therabody, renowned for its innovative massage guns and wellness solutions, revealed its forthcoming Coach platform. This new system represents a significant advancement in digital recovery.

Introducing a Personalized Recovery Experience

Initially released as a beta feature within the existing Therabody application, Coach elevates the user experience beyond pre-set routines. It leverages the power of data to gain a comprehensive understanding of individual recovery requirements.

Data Integration and AI-Driven Personalization

Coach was created through a collaborative effort with Garmin. It merges user data with generative AI, resulting in recovery plans tailored to specific objectives, activity levels, and health indicators.

The platform gathers information from a variety of sources, including Garmin smartwatches, as well as Apple Health, Google Fit, and Strava. This broad data collection ensures a holistic view of the user’s physical state.

How Coach Optimizes Recovery

By analyzing collected data and incorporating user feedback, Coach seamlessly integrates with Therabody devices. This allows for the delivery of personalized prompts and suggestions designed to enhance athletic capabilities and promote general wellness.

For example, following the completion of a 5K run, the platform might recommend a targeted leg recovery session to minimize muscle soreness.

A Purposeful Approach to AI

“Therabody’s implementation of AI is driven by a desire to address genuine consumer needs, not simply to utilize the technology,” stated John Solomon, CMO of Therabody, in a recent press release.

He further explained that the integration of extensive data from Garmin will facilitate a deeper understanding of the relationship between recovery and performance, on a scale previously unattainable.

Initial Integration and Future Expansion

The initial phase of Coach will focus on compatibility with Therabody’s Theragun devices. The company intends to broaden support to encompass its complete product line in subsequent updates.
