Tech Startup Hubs in England & Wales: TechCrunch Survey

TechCrunch Launches Survey of European Startup Ecosystems
TechCrunch is initiating a significant new undertaking: a comprehensive survey of founders and investors situated in European cities beyond the primary capital locations.
Over the coming weeks, we will be soliciting insights from entrepreneurs within these cities, allowing them to characterize their respective ecosystems directly.
This represents an opportunity to showcase your city's entrepreneurial landscape to TechCrunch's readership!
Focus on England and Wales
For this initial phase of the survey, our focus is on startup hubs located in England and Wales. Scotland will be included in a subsequent survey, and data from Northern Ireland has already been collected.
We are actively seeking contributions from both founders and investors. Particular emphasis will be placed on gathering perspectives from diverse individuals within the startup community.
We are especially interested in receiving feedback from the following cities:
- Birmingham
- Brighton
- Bristol & Bath
- Cambridge
- Cardiff
- Liverpool
- Manchester
- Newcastle
- Oxford
- Reading and Thames valley
- York
If you are a tech startup founder or investor based in one of these locations, please complete the survey form available here.
Expanding Coverage Beyond Capital Cities
The prevalence of responses from a given city will directly influence the likelihood of that city being highlighted in TechCrunch’s reporting.
This initiative builds upon a substantial survey of investors conducted over the past six months, primarily concentrating on capital cities.
These surveys are part of an ongoing series for Extra Crunch, our subscription-based service dedicated to providing in-depth analysis of critical issues for startups and investors.
The initial wave of surveys primarily covered capital cities, with the results available for review here.
Now, we are turning our attention to other European cities to understand their growth trajectories and the experiences of those directly involved.
Seeking Your Insights
We aim to understand how your city’s startup environment is changing, the effects of COVID-19 on the tech sector, and its anticipated future development.
Submissions will be published with minimal editing, and we encourage responses that are substantive, ideally consisting of at least one or two paragraphs per question.
Again, if you are a tech startup founder or investor in one of the listed cities, please contribute by completing our survey form here.
